Arm yourself with a can-do spirit and you shall pass these examinations in style.
Since this is the last board report, I would like to thank you all and USASA for giving me the opportunity to represent Mawson Lakes. I am thrilled to be equipped with the knowledge and experience that I have gained through this role.
Here are some activities that will be happening in December
USASA Board Meeting – 14th December
DEA Committee Meeting – 8th December
All the best everyone and always remember that your health is more important than your marks.
Feel free to contact me via email chasy294@mymail.unisa.edu.au.
Hello, hope the exam period treated you well and you are taking a well-deserved rest. This month was not very busy USASA-wise as it was crunch time at uni. We had our final meeting with the Finance Committee which included a period of reflection on how the year went for us. This made me feel incredibly grateful for the opportunities I had to learn and get educated about the financial world and the inner-workings of the university. I am keen to do the same at Clubs Committee on the 14th – look back at the year and see what we did well and what we could have done better.
The semester is going to end soon, so give your best and good luck with your exams. And congratulations to the new USASA 2022 team!! 🥳
USASA Club Awards
Had a great time meeting wonderful club members. It was good to see new student clubs emerging on campuses/online such as UniSA Women’s Collective and ChatBox. These clubs are there for a good cause and I would highly recommend you guys to join these clubs.

Again, all the best everyone. Study hard & party hard.
It’s that time of the semester and I hope everyone’s coping well with assignment submissions, quizzes and exam prep. I for one have been swamped with placement and assignments especially because its my final semester at university :). We got this! We’ll push through it together!
Here’s a rundown of activities for the month of September:
DEA Committee Meeting
This time around, we had discussed about the multi-access suites, and it was a great achievement that the Wear it Purple Day poster was displayed on the Bradley Building LED billboard as it is something that’s been worked on for a very long time. Additionally, it was good to hear from Michelle Anderson that they’re about to provide Ally Network Training to those who had registered their interest. This is another achievement as it is something they have been working on this project for almost 4 years now!
Finance Committee Meeting
Our finance committee meeting was held on the 9th of September. We had a pretty routined meeting where we had gone through USASA’s Financial Review and our Portfolio Review to date 🙂

Please don’t hesitate to email me regarding anything. I am more than happy to help you.
This month has been a bit slower for me which thankfully has given me a bit of time to acclimatise back to uni life. Before I sum up some of the things that happened, our next Clubs Committee is happening on the 19th of August at 1:30pm and I’ve love to see club execs there representing their clubs. If you’d like to attend, just flick me an email by the 13th of August and I can provide more information.
Finance Committee Meeting
We had another finance committee meeting where we looked over USASA’s investments again to see what was changing. It was incredibly productive as we approved USASA’s budget for 2022 which marks a pretty big mile stone in the year for the committee.
USASA Board Meeting
This meeting marked our first meeting online as a board as we headed into lockdown, but it was great in that we got to meet the new Online Student Representative, Amy. Right from the start, I could see how having online student representation makes a big difference, and having someone there to speak on behalf of online students is incredibly important in being able to understand how to make decisions that are more conscientious to the online cohort.

See you next month! Feel free to send emails my way if you have any questions or things you’d like to bring up!
Hello, as I’m sure a lot of you can relate to, I am so relieved to be on break and not have think about anything remotely related to my degree at all for a couple of weeks. Hope those of you who are still on holidays really take the time to relax and de-stress. The past month for me was mainly committee meetings, the purposes of which I will take you through below.
Clubs Committee Meeting
Our clubs committee meeting was held in the second week of June, and it was great to see a lot of new faces from a lot of different clubs. Discussion mainly centered around the upcoming Club Awards Night talking about potential additions to the awards categories, such as a ‘Best Clubs Feature’ to recognise an outstanding contribution to the USASA social media platforms, as well as a ‘Best Advocate’ award to celebrate clubs which provide relevant opportunities to the members.
Finance Committee Meeting
I attended another finance committee meeting where we discussed USASA’s investment portfolio as well as USASA’s proposed budget for 2022. It was a valuable session, as those of us on the committee were able to learn more about the budget development process and the strategies that come with asking for a decent sum of money.
UniTopia Committee Meeting
I went to a meeting run by the USASA events team to discuss the SP2 UniTopia where we had a look at what was working with the current event format and what could potentially be changed to make it better. I think the team always do a great job at putting on an event that students can enjoy, however in this current COVID-landscape, I think the way that people engage with events is changing. I know that a lot of the online cohort still want the same level of socialising tht on-campus students have, and so I would love to see a bigger online component to UniTopia, which the committee was in agreement on. Anyway, I’m keen to see how the planning progresses from here, and please let me know if you have any suggestions or ideas you’d like to share.
Hi everyone, I hope exam preparation is going well, and if you’re finished for the semester, please enjoy your break on behalf of the rest of us. Here are some main points from the month of May.
Finance Committee Meeting
We had our second finance committee for the year, and it was a great meeting packed with heaps of new things to learn. Many of us on the committee are new to the world of finance and we were walked through USASA’s investment portfolio. This was important to understand and gave me a better grasp on the responsibility that board members have in terms of USASA’s financial security.
UniTopia
I hope you got the chance to visit one of the UniTopia events organised and run by the amazing USASA events staff. It was a great way to destress in the intense lead up to the exam period. I had the pleasure of manning the dog patting station at the Magill campus which was probably the most enjoyable job I’ll ever have. A big thank you to all involved in running the event and to everyone to volunteered on the day – it was great.
