President’s Report – February

Hey everyone,

February has been very exciting, while everyone has been getting prepared for O’Week and seeing the new students in. It was great to meet all the new students, promote our new diary and services, and chat to them about what they’d like to see in 2017. It was fantastic to see all the new volunteers getting involved throughout the week as well. February was also spent meeting with Board members and establishing their KPIs for the year.

February 2017 – Mawson Lakes Rep

Hi everyone!

How good was O-Week? All of the USASA staff, volunteers, and student representatives did a fantastic job, and it was a great opportunity to meet so many of you! The 2017 diaries we were handing out all week are jam-packed with useful information which will help you throughout the year, so if you didn’t pick one up then I suggest you grab one from your USASA Campus Counter.

Feb Activity Report 2017_DW

Oh my days, what a month! I can’t believe there are lot of things happening throughout the month of February. From meetings with the schools to preparation of my plans for international students. I also had done my media training masterclass with Kayla (President) & Louise (Postgraduate) on how do we present ourselves and response via radio and filming. Besides, I was really excited that I got to meet from UniSA Student Engagement Staff, Council of International Student of Australia (CISA) President and Welfare Officer, to Study Adelaide Student Supporter during International Student O-Week Day. I was grateful that I had the opportunity to meet them and discuss my future plans for UniSA International Students. Also, I’m excited to see all the new faces coming to UniSA Orientation.

Exciting and joyous, that’s how I want to tag the month of February this year after meeting all of you, the enthusiastic bunch of people during the O-week. Once again, welcome to all the new students to the University. All of us (both new and continuing students) would surely have an educative and fun experience at our second home from now on, the City West Campus.

The month of February:

The month of February was eventful and all the reps along with USASA staffs, were busy to make the O-week experience the best for all of you. For me and the new board, the month started with the board meeting where few new decisions were made. Continue reading

Postgrad Feb + Survey www.surveymonkey.com/r/YB7PRJN

Hi postgrads!

What a month! We had our first board meeting for 2017, which led to lots of great discussion. I was elected by the board to be the Vice President of USASA for 2017, which is a great honour. I also joined the Governance and Women’s committees.

Postgraduate student survey

The biggest thing I’ve been working on this month is creating the Postgraduate Student Survey. If you’re a postgraduate student, I’d love for you to fill it out! It should take you 3-5 minutes and asks some questions about you, your studies, and what kind of events you’d like to attend.

I am able to put on one big event for the postgraduate students this year, and I’d like it to be the event of your choosing, so please take the time to do the survey!

Welcome all new students to the Whyalla University Campus

I was really impressed with the energy of the new students as they strolled in for their official first day at Uni, sitting at the USASA table I knew this was their first encounter with the Student Association. As they looked at what was available to take for free, most picked up the condom packet from shine thinking it was a set of matches or a badge, they turned the packet to read the fine print only to have a great surprise, you know who you are.
