It’s been great to be out and about on campus catching up with so many of you and hearing your great ideas for how USASA can continue to improve your student experience at UniSA. Continue reading

Exams are creeping up, and things are heating up. We just finished campus fair and chill vibes and now Unitopia is up next. All these amazing events are there to de stress you all from too many assignments and exams.
I will be honest, I was a bit quiet this month as I am still in the learning process. I have fully settled in my position and now its time to get to work. This month I have spent most of my time attending preclusion and formal enquiry meetings. I have chaired the second Finance committee meeting , and attended other committee meetings like the education committee and governance committee. Furthermore, I have attended Unite leadership program workshops. Continue reading
Hope first term went well for you all getting back into the swing of uni life.
This month started at 4am for myself and USASA President Jordan as we woke up on the 1st of March and started our 5 hour road trip to UniSA Mt Gambier Campus to promote USASA and the Mt Gambier re-election. After a couple hours in Mt Gambier we made the 5 hour trek home in time for USASA Club BBQ at City West. Continue reading
I’m Georgina and I am the new USASA Rep for the Mount Gambier Campus. I am so excited and proud to be representing the students here and provide them with the best experiences.
It has been extremely busy on campus the past few weeks, smashing out some assignments and brainstorming events for the year. Continue reading
This month has been a relatively quiet one for me as a student rep – though sadly not for my PhD!
For those of you who are on break at the moment, enjoy the chance to rest and recharge; for those who are not, at least we can enjoy the quiet campus and shorter lines for coffee!
First up, I recently asked postgrad students what format they would like to see for a possible postgrad catch up this year. I think it’s important to find ways for postgrad students to connect across campuses and within them, as we are all too often stuck in our office or lab and focused on our deadlines. At the moment it’s looking like the winner is a pizza and games night on campus – but if you haven’t yet joined UniSA Postgrads or haven’t yet voted on the poll please do. Whatever you decide, I’ll take to the board and let you know what we come up with! 🍕🍕🍕🎲🎲🎲 Continue reading

March clearly felt like running marathon. I got my days mixed up and I am a few hours late at getting the my report in. Apologies!
Most of you know me now and aware of my passion towards women’s matters on campus. I spent this month learning about what I can and can not do in the capacity of Magill Under Grad Representative and the convenor of the Women’s Committee at USASA. The complexities of the matter require me to connect with female identifying students on campus. I identified USASA Women’s Collective Club as a great opportunity to reach out with diverse student groups to initiate matters for discussion.
In the capacity of the club listed are some on the issues I came across:
- Sexual Assault
- Domestic Violence
- Breast feeding
- Storage of Breast milk on campus
- Child care
- Pumping Breast milk on campus
- Gender inequality
- Inadequate support during placement due to gender biases
I wish to network and continue to explore new ideas to form a safe space for students in the future.
- 01/03/2018 Clubs Welcome BBQ
- 06/03/2018 Magill Campus Fair Day
- 08/03/2018 USASA Women’s Committee Meeting
- 08/03/2018 International Women’s Day Zumba by UniSA Women’s Collective Club
- 08/03/2018 International Women’s Day March

March, for me, has been a bit of a different experience as a USASA board rep! Continue reading

Women’s committee meeting is later today and am excited to attend via phone.
That is all for now see you next month.
How are you going? I hope your study has been going well. The first few weeks of SP2 has passed very quickly, hasn’t it? I hope you have enjoyed March and April as there were quite a few great activities going around our campuses and I would recommend you to take some time from your schedule to join some of those activities, make new friends and keep creating a good memory at uni.
Campus Fair is an amazing event that I would like to highlight. Have you been to one of those? It’s great, isn’t it?
Now onto what I’ve been up to this month:
