This month I’m trying to get together with cultural club members for International Student Sub-Committee and building partnership with Study Adelaide, Student Engagement and etc. It was great to meet the club members during Club fest and the Clubs Welcome Party. Not just that, I’m still in progression by putting together the Healthy Food Video which aligns with Unitopia and building connections with external stakeholders on Personal Finance Workshop. I also attending the committee meeting especially Unitopia and Warehouse Party. I enjoy working with the staff and give opinions with them on how can we make an awesome events.
USASA Report – Julie Baum Student Representative
Summary of activity
March has been very hectic, my plan was to connect with as many students as possible and build the profile of USASA and my role here in Mt Gambier. I was able to engage with a large number of students across year levels and classes, this included a presentation specifically for the IPP class to help support their transition into Uni.
The month of March was eventful and full of several activities as always directed towards achieving the objectives for the board. I am also excited as this would be the first month when me and Ryan (the City West reps) would meet and talk to all of you directly about any concerns you have. The date is fixed now for the first ‘Student Catch-up’ and it is on March 30, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 PM at the student lounge. I ended February with a formal inquiry and the month of March again started with board meeting during which some important decisions were taken.
Everyone has been settling into their roles after meeting all of the new students at O’Week and getting ready for the year. The campus representatives have been organising student catch-ups to get feedback from students at UniSA, and USASA has been busy with ClubsFest and gearing up for our pac crawl which has sold out!
It was great to meet so many of you this month and hear your ideas, and what you’d like to see from me as your USASA Representative.
What I’ve been up to this month:
Hi everyone! With another busy month gone by, I’m back to report on what been going on.
We started off the month with our second board meeting on the 3rd of March. We had a special guest presentation from Dr Laura-Anne Bull on student engagement with the university which I enjoyed listening to.
Wow! 3 months in and so much is already happening. From Orientation to ClubsFest, it has been great to be out and about, meeting with students to hear the ideas you have which will make our campus a better place to study, work and play. Continue reading
Hi everyone! Another busy month! If you haven’t completed my postgraduate student survey yet, please do! I promise it will take only 3 or 4 minutes. Access it here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/YB7PRJN
By filling out the survey, you get a say in what kind of event I will hold for the postgraduate students this year! I am thinking of holding it in October so that there is lots of time to plan an AMAZING event!
I have been attending a lot of meetings this month, helping new students to settle in and working hard on some of my ideas to improve the student experience. Read below for the details! (in chronological order)
Previous month was fairly busy for me. I attended the board meeting on February 6th and was elected as a convenor for the Finance and Clubs committee. I attended with the Student President regarding my KPI’s. I attended the O-Week day at City East and was present at USASA stall from early morning to till afternoon. I had to opportunity of chatting to lots of students and i informed them about the role of USASA and their reps. I also attended the academic council meeting which was a great experience. Currently i am in the process of getting the first meeting for the Finance and Club Committees underway.
