City East Undergraduate Report – October/November – Timothy Pham

Hello everyone,

SP5 is getting closer to an end and it is the most important period of the year – exam period. Let us study hard together over this tough period. I know we will all do well. The amazing holiday is waiting ahead.

Here are some quick updates from my site:

BBQ’s at City East was held on Thursday 3/11 (week 13) between 11:30am and 1:30pm and it was very successful. There were more students coming than we expected so all the foods were gone around 1pm. Many students were very excited about the free foods and hope to see more events like that on campus. They said Thursdays are good as many students will be on campus on Thursdays. Many students stay on campus during week 13 to study for their exams, foods on campus will save a bit of their time to go and buy lunch, which means they can study a bit more. I hope the next city east reps will continue these wonderful events next year as the students really like it.

Let’s see what USASA has for us in in next few months:

City East Undergraduate Report – May/June – Timothy Pham

Hello everyone,

It’s the Swot Vac week this week. I guess we are all very busy with our final assessments and exams. I will try to keep it short.

Here are some quick updates from my site:

Most of my time this month was focus on completing my final assessments for this semester. Having some ideas for city east free foods in mind but I think I won’t be able to make it until next semester as I will have my placement soon from 27/6 to 21/9. I’m thinking of having two more free BBQ events in city east campus in October and early November if Sim (the other city rep) would also be free as well. Please let me know if there are anything that I can do for you and our campus for the rest of the year.

Key dates for May/June:

21/6 – USASA Board Meeting

19/7 – USASA Board Meeting

Good luck for your final assessments and exams. I know you will do them well. Remember to take some rest between studies, our brain cannot remember things when it’s tired. Don’t forget to have good meals too, don’t eat too much fast food even though we’re trying to save time. Drink orange juice to keep your immunity up too. Good luck! ((:

Cheers,

Tim

City East Undergraduate Report – Apr/May – Timothy Pham

Hello everyone,

Welcome back to the second half of the semester! I hope you had a great break with many wonderful memories with your friends. It’s now time to speed up your studies as you will realise how close we are to the exams soon in the next few weeks.

Here are some quick updates from my site:

On Thursday 5/5, Sim, Bridget and I had a debrief about the BBQ that we did in city east on Wednesday 23/3. The BBQ was great with a good number of people. We gave out a total of 130 sausages and 20 vegie patties. Sim and I are thinking to do another one in June of early next semester if we can find a time when both of us are free from studies and works. Is there any time in the up coming weeks that you would like us to do? Please send us an email, we will try our best to organise it!! ((: My email is phahy017@mymail.unisa.edu.au just in case you haven’t got it yet. Also, if you would like us to give out any fruits or snacks, please let us know which fruits and snacks that you like so that we will make sure we get them for you. Just don’t tell me that you like jackfruits or durians hahaha because I don’t know where to find them and also, it’s smelly!! ((:

I will be on placements from 27/6 to 21/9, so I probably won’t be on campus that often. But I do check my email, should you need any thing from me, you have my email there. I do wish you a good time ahead for the remaining of the semester, do come to class and spend more time with friends because once we graduate, we probably don’t have much chance to see each other as often as when we have classes.

Key dates for April/May:

17/5 – USASA Board Meeting

16/6 – Club Committee Meeting

21/6 – USASA Board Meeting

All the very best for your upcoming assessments. Don’t leave it to the last minutes, better to start them early. See you around campus. Bye for now!

Cheers,

Tim

City East Undergraduate Report – Mar/Apr – Timothy Pham

Hello everyone,

How have you been for the first 6 weeks of uni this year? I hope you’re going well with it and keeping on top of all your studies. Uni break has come, let’s take a quick break away from studies, do something fun with friends, don’t forget to have a balance life so that we can get back to the second half of the semester with energy and focus. Let’s see what news I’ve got for you this month.

Here are some quick updates from my site:

On Friday 8/4/2022 between 11:30am and 1:30pm, Isaac, Sim and I were cooking at the free BBQ event at the Basil Hetzel Plaza in City East campus. We had quite a large number of students coming along and chatting with us about some ideas that they would like to see in City East during their time of studying here. Some of the ideas are: banh mi, boba store, John Kwon, student chill out bar events (in the plaza) ie Friday nights, food options for students, social events, more food places, more food options X2, parking, student bar to socialise/meet people, more food/bar for a cold one, brekky bar every day, more day events and activities for students to socialise and have fun, more parking, more events, etc. Isaac was very skillful at cooking the sausages and the veggie burgers while Sim was very good at serving the food. Rohit also came in to help out with the event and I felt very blessed to have such a supportive team. We will have a debrief soon and we are thinking of having similar events in City East Campus. Hope the activation events will be familiar with City East students and be a platform for us to get to know one another a bit better, sharing great ideas in making a better City East campus.

We’ve finally had the result for the USASA by-election. Please join me in welcoming Michelle Emery as the Magill rep and Ashleigh Quilliam as the Mount Gambier rep for 2022. We’re now filled and will work harder to make your time at uni more fun and memorable.

21/4 – Club Committee Meeting

17/5 – USASA Board Meeting

Have a great break and I will see you around campus once we’re back to week 7. Bye for now!
